Our very own Cannock Fringe Festival proves that this is a town that is buzzing with creativity, musicality and artistic flair, taking this opportunity to celebrate these local talents. This and all for ABSOLUTELY FREE! The festival got off to a great start last night with Cafe Nino’s open Mic night proving a great success. Artists such as Joe got into the ‘al fresco’ vibe, singing outside on the traditional cobbles of High Green Court. Tables were placed snugly outside the cafe front, complementing the summery feel of the intimate evening gig.

Two of the members of DirtyMuthaRuckers gave us a taster of the set they will be playing on Saturday in the town centre, with our very own Kerst Ward fronting the popular rock covers band. He’s promised us his unique approach to a range of music from Katy Perry to Marylin Manson.

Cannock Fringe Festival comes to a climax tomorrow morning on Saturday 18th July in the centre of town. Performances will be split between two stages; the “bottom” bandstand near to St Lukes church, and “top” the war memorial stand further up by the bowls green. This is to ensure a smooth running event without awkward delay or hold ups. Don’t worry though, you won’t be running back and forth to see them all, as the stages are close enough that both are easily visible from anywhere in town.

The set list promises that the day will turn out to be a spectacle of creative and artistic entertainment, with performers ranging from poetry readings, tango dancers, and rock bands. The fun kicks off at 10 so make sure you get there to ensure you don’t miss your favourite!
