Around the Community

Pitmen supporter and HTFCSA committee member Paul Woodhead plays a big part in promoting the club throughout the community. He is also involved in various local groups, organisations and associations that would affect a number of supporters. Here, in a recurring article for the programme, he brings us up-to-date with news from around the area.

As part of a series of features to raise awareness of groups working in our community, we look at a new community group establishing themselves for the benefit of Friends of the Town of Hednesford

Making our town better connected

As local residents and shoppers, your opinions matter and this group wants to make sure those opinions are heard. They are looking for local people to be part of this NEW group – Friends of Hednesford Town. The group will meet once a month to discuss ideas and put forward suggestions for future events and initiatives in Hednesford, as well as be actively involved in the organisation of those events. Have your say on what you want to see in Hednesford, including shops, markets, themed events and more. They want to make Hednesford town centre the ‘place to be’ and a place that visitors and residents want to spend their time.

To get this group off the ground they have set up an initial meeting on: Wednesday 24th February 2016 at 6pm at Bella’s Coffee House. They are looking for people who would be prepared to attend a meeting each month, help them to form a committee and work together to bring new and exciting things to Hednesford including: street events and parties, carnivals, markets, music events and much more…

If you’re interested in joining this brand new group and being a ‘friend of Hednesford town’ please fill in a form available from Mark at Bella’s.
